The Experimental and Applied Software Engineering (E&A SE) research group of the Software Engineering Laboratory (LES) is part of PUC-Rio's Informatics Department postgraduate (MSc and PhD level) program, which is evaluated by the Brazilian Federal Agency for Postgraduate Education (CAPES) as being of international excellence (maximum score, 7). The group conducts empirical research to ground the proposal of innovative software technologies and to generate knowledge concerning the feasibility and impact of applying them in specific industrial contexts. The group is represented at the International Software Engineering Research Network (ISERN) and is active in international research collaborations. Research results are available in publications in renown journals and conferences.
The group focuses on applied research to solve concrete problems and to transfer innovative solutions to the industry, improving process and product quality of partner companies and promoting operational excellence.
